What Makes the SDA Student Experience Different?
Sunny Weeks
During our *SUNNY WEEKS* dancers will celebrate the art of dance & engage with their classmates in a fun and creative environment. Sunny Week activities will vary, but might include: thematic dance parties, dance games, and challenges.
There will be 5 *SUNNY WEEKS* for the 2024-2025 season (September, November, January, February, & April). See our 2025-2026 Calendar HERE!
We will send an email two weeks in advance with the special theme for each *SUNNY WEEK* and we encourage dancers to dress up for the theme if they want!

2024-2025: Bloom & Boogie (flowers), Drizzle & Dazzle (weather), Aloha 2025 (Moana/Hawaiian), We're Jammin' (sleepover theme), & SDA Party Animals Go Into the Wild (jungle/animals)
2023-2024: SDA Blues, Sweethearts & Sweet Tarts (Valentine's + Candy), The Pinktastic Adventures of Barbie & Ken, Glam Gouls (Halloween themed), & Mesmerizing Mermaids
Accolades & Certificates
Our accolades serve as a weekly progress tracker - each of our students receives an accolade at the beginning of the year to track their attendance, growth, and effort.

Each student will also receive a personalized & signed certificate from SDA teachers specifically chosen for that student.

A Very Vale Christmas
Mid-Year Christmas Show
During November and December, all NON-SPARKLE dancers will be learning and preparing to perform a routine for our annual A Very Vale Christmas show held at a local facility! There is NO EXTRA FEE FOR PARTICIPATING! All additional costs are included in your dancer's registration fee!

We love getting to see our students' faces light up as they show their parents all they've been working on and how much they've grown!

December 14th and/or 15th (TBD): SDA Mid-Season Show & Holiday Parties (exact schedule to come out later)
Our sparkle dancers have their own special Christmas celebration as well!
Team Building Opportunities
Team building events aimed at increasing the camaraderie between our students (holiday parties & bring a friend to dance class week).
Vale Club
Sunnyvale Dance Academy is proud to announce an exclusive opportunity for your dancer to be a member of “VALE CLUB.” If your Kinder-8th grade dancer meets the requirements below, they will be invited to participate in this UNIQUE & FUN opportunity. Princess/Star dancers who are at least 4 years old and interested can email to inquire about eligibility. Sparkle dancers or Princess/Star dancers who are 3 years old are not eligible. Please see Vale Club requirements & perks below.
Vale Club Requirements:
*Kinder-5th Grade: Must be enrolled in 2 SDA classes per week
*6th-8th Grade: Must be enrolled in 3 SDA classes per week
*Summer training required (one summer camp–not play party–is required the summer after the 2025-2026 school year)
Vale Club Perks:
*Opportunity to perform in Recital opening number (additional rehearsals required closer to Recital)
*Free Vale Club T-shirt & opportunities to purchase other exclusive Vale Club Merch
*Recognition in a Very Vale Christmas Program
*Recognition in Recital Program

Vale Club Invitations:
Vale Club invitations will be sent out at the beginning of each month beginning in July 2025 - November 2025. We will no longer be accepting Vale Club Members after November 1, 2025.

Years of Dedication Award
We love celebrating commitment, growth, and long-term love for dance. Dancers who have been with Sunnyvale Dance Academy for 3, 5, or 8 years receive special recognition in our annual recital program--plus a keepsake award to honor their dedication and hard work. It’s our way of saying: your loyalty matters, and we see you shining year after year.
